We celebrated Lincoln's first Christmas at home. Lincoln seemed pretty excited about his gifts from Santa!

So how does this thing work?

Here Dad let me help you...

Life Preparations...

It is never too soon to prepare your child for the future.  We figured why not get him started on his love for Pancheros, and also his aspirations to take over for Terry some day...

First Hair Cut!

So Lincoln was starting to have a bit of a rat tail and what I like to call old man hair where his hair was long enough that it stuck out over his ears....it had to be done!

Photo Booth Fun!

So I had the bright idea of doing a photo booth at Christmas.  It did get a little crazy with all the kiddos but I think they really enjoyed it and the pictures turned out great!  Clearly Lincoln preferred pictures with Daddy....

Around the House...

So this blog has actually become a secondary method of documenting life with Lincoln.  I also ventured into Project Life to create a book of Lincoln's first year.  So some of the add-ons to these images stem from that!

This kid is a motorin macine!

Excuse the tushy...it's almost bath time! (Funny Rhea hates getting baths....Lincoln LOVES them!)

Goof Ball...

So Lincoln has really started to dislike his car seat.  He does the "stiff bod" when we try to put him in it and cries until we pick him up to leave.  With that being said he LOVES to play in it!

Coke bottle glasses anyone?  The things Grandma Tammy has hanging around the house....

Oh Christmas Tree....Christmas Tree

Todd's family has always been a real tree family while I never had a real tree growing up.  I told Todd that once we had kids we could get a real tree, but if we were going to do it, we were doing it right.  We headed down to Morning Star Tree farm between Washington and Brighton to pick out our tree.  Luckily my mom went with us so she could sit with Lincoln in the car until we found the tree and could take a picture before Todd cut it down.  After quite a bit of looking we settled on a tree, Todd cut it down and we strapped it to the top of the car.

Unfortunately our great day took a turn for the worse when the strap holding down our tree came lose and the tree flew off the car on Highway 218.  Luckily it didn't hit anyone, but when Todd got back in the car without the tree I knew it had met its end and would soon become the home for some animals in the ditch along the highway.

When I called me mom to tell her she started laughing so hard she could barely breathe...while I was on the other end bawling.  That was the tree WE had picked out.  I had plans to make an ornament from the truck after Christmas and now my "big" plans were ruined!  She said she would look at Hy-Vee the next day to see if there were any decent ones left.  The next day she sent me a picture of a tree in a clay pot.  I told it looked fine and then she called to inform that it was OUR tree...the one we had cut down.  She had gone and retrieved it from the ditch for us.  She taped some greenery to the top to make it look more tree shaped and stuck it in a clay pot.  She had also went out and found us a new beautiful tree from Hy-Vee.

The original tree now sits in front of the house and the backup tree has made a nice addition to our living room.  Todd will probably kill me for posting this story because he thinks the tree flying off was his fault, which is not true...sorry honey...this was a story worth telling and one we will laugh about for years to come!

Found the Tree!

Strapped on top nice and tight!

Almost done...good thing I had my little elf to help me out!

Does he look like the son of a Librarian?

Lincoln likes playing in his room on occasion.  We don't spend a lot of time in there outside of bedtime, so it makes it extra fun because it's almost like a whole new place during the day!  Today he went straight for the books...a sure sign that he has a librarian for a mother!

He also loves Peek-A-Boo so finding this new hiding spot was pretty fun too!

Funny that he pulled out that book....look familiar?

Crawler, Climber, Stinker, Smile....

Lincoln has officially started crawling and pulling up on things.  Of course he find ALL the things he should get into, but it is so fun to watch him explore!

Oooh this looks fun...

No hands? No problem!

Help! I'm trapped in a basket and I can't get out!

Hey Dad! I'm awake!

You may not believe me but he put himself in this little cage...not me!

Celebrate Good Times....Come On!

We spent the weekend in Harlan celebrating Grandma Joan's 60th Birthday!  We had a lot of fun spending time with cousins and loved ones! Besides Todd ending up sick it was a pretty good weekend!

Looking pretty good for a kid who screamed all night!

Mmmm these cars are tasty!
